What Is a Life Timeline Journal?

Most journaling apps only really care about today. A life timeline cares about all of it — your whole life, organized by when it actually happened.

Why "chronological" is the whole point

Memory fades in a specific, frustrating way: not evenly, but in gaps. You can usually describe this month in detail. Your entire 30s, or the year you moved cities, is often just a blur unless something was written down at the time.

A life timeline exists to close that gap — not by helping you remember better, but by giving you somewhere to put things as they happen, organized by when they happened, so future-you doesn't have to rely on memory at all.

How it works day-to-day

Every entry in MyLife: Timeline Journal can include text, photos, videos, audio, location, and a mood — and it can be dated to any day, not just today. Wrote nothing during a whole year of your life? You can still add an entry dated back then, and it slots into your timeline exactly where it belongs. Entries show up two ways: a scrollable, Instagram-style timeline feed for day-to-day browsing, and the Life Grid for seeing the whole shape of your life at once.

The Life Grid: your whole life, one week per square

The Life Grid is the clearest way MyLife: Timeline Journal shows this off: every week of your life, grouped into stages from Early Childhood through Adulthood, laid out as a single visual grid. Tap any week — last week, or one from 1994 — and you'll see whatever you've recorded for that period. It turns "my whole life" from an abstract phrase into something you can actually scroll through.

On This Day

The timeline also works backward on its own: On This Day surfaces memories from previous years that match today's date, right in your feed — along with any milestone anniversaries you've recorded. You don't have to go looking for the past. On the right day, it comes to you.
