How Much of Your Life Have You Lived?

Not a prediction. Not a countdown. Just an honest, visual answer — built from your own birth date and the life expectancy you choose.

Why thinking about remaining time changes how people live

Most of us know, abstractly, that life is finite. Very few of us ever see that fact in a form simple enough to actually feel. A percentage does something a birthday doesn't — it turns an abstract idea into a single number you can look at on an ordinary Tuesday.

That's the entire idea behind Life Battery, a feature inside MyLife: Timeline Journal. It doesn't tell you anything you didn't already know. It just makes it a little harder to ignore.

How it's calculated

Life Battery works from two numbers you provide yourself: your date of birth, and a life expectancy you choose — not one assigned to you. From those two points, it calculates how much of that span has passed, and shows the remainder as a battery percentage, alongside your current age, years remaining, and days remaining.

Life Battery is a reflective visualization based on the date of birth and life expectancy you choose. It is not a medical tool and does not predict how long anyone will live.

What it actually shows you

  • • Battery percentage remaining
  • • Years remaining
  • • Days remaining
  • • Your current age

All of it is computed on your iPhone, from numbers only you entered. Nothing is sent anywhere.

It's not just about you

Life Battery extends to the people you love. Add a family member — a parent, a child, a friend — with their name, relationship, birthday, and an optional photo, and their battery sits alongside yours. Seeing a parent's battery at 20% reads differently than knowing their age does. It's the same fact, said a different way.

In Memory mode

For a family member who has passed away, Life Battery can be switched to In Memory mode. Their battery shows at 0%, and their age freezes at the age they were when they died. It's a small, quiet way of keeping someone present in the app without pretending time didn't stop for them.

A number, not a warning

The point of Life Battery was never to alarm anyone. It's to make the ordinary, already-true fact of a finite life a little more visible — often just enough to change what you do with an afternoon, or who you decide to call.

Questions people ask about this

How much of my life have I lived?

It depends on your current age and how long you expect to live. Life Battery calculates this by comparing your birth date against a life expectancy you choose yourself, showing the result as a simple remaining percentage.

Is there an app that shows how much of your life is left?

Yes. MyLife: Timeline Journal includes a feature called Life Battery, which visualizes your remaining time as an iPhone-style battery percentage, based on your birth date and a life expectancy you set yourself.

Does Life Battery predict how long I will live?

No. Life Battery is a reflective visualization based on the date of birth and life expectancy you choose. It is not a medical tool and does not predict how long anyone will live.
