Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Loc8 Me is a simple location-sharing app. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything stays on your device.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect nothing. Loc8 Me has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics.

• Your contacts (names and phone numbers) are stored only on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
• Your location is accessed only when you tap Share — it is never recorded or uploaded anywhere.
• No usage data, crash reports, or analytics are collected.
• No advertising identifiers or tracking of any kind.

3. Location Access

Loc8 Me uses your device's GPS to get your current coordinates when you tap the Share button. This location is used to generate a Google Maps link that you choose to send via SMS or another app.

Your location is never stored in the app, sent to any server, or shared without your explicit action.

4. Contacts Access

Contact access is optional. The app will only request contact permission if you tap "Import from Contacts" when adding a family member.

When you use the contact picker, only the single contact you select is passed to the app. Loc8 Me never reads your full contact list.

Contact names and phone numbers are stored only on your device and are never transmitted anywhere. You can revoke contact access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Contacts.

5. Location Sharing

When you share your location, Loc8 Me generates a Google Maps link and opens your iPhone's Messages app (or the system share sheet) with that link pre-filled.

You must tap Send yourself — iOS does not allow any app to send messages automatically. Loc8 Me never sends messages on your behalf.

Once you send the message, it travels via your carrier's SMS network or your chosen messaging app directly to the recipient. Loc8 Me is not involved in the delivery and never sees the message content.

6. Purchases

Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Loc8 Me never receives your payment information, Apple ID, or any account details.

Your purchase status is determined locally on your device. We do not track, store, or transmit any information about your trial or purchase.

7. Third-Party Services

Loc8 Me uses no third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking services.

The only external services involved are:

• Apple StoreKit — for processing your one-time purchase.
• Google Maps — the link format used for sharing your location (the link opens in the recipient's browser or Maps app; we have no involvement with Google).

8. Data Deletion

Deleting Loc8 Me from your device removes all associated data permanently, including your saved contacts and app preferences.

There is no account to delete and no server-side data to request removal of.

9. Children's Privacy

Loc8 Me does not knowingly collect any information from children. Since the app collects no data at all, it is safe for family use. Parents are responsible for supervising their children's use of the app.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this Privacy Policy, the updated version will be available within the app and on the App Store listing. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
