This Privacy Policy explains our data practices: we do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data — including location, family, or purchase information. Our AI learns and operates entirely on your device.

2. What Data We Do NOT Collect

• Location data — all location processing happens on your device only.
• Personal information — no names, emails, phone numbers, or identifiers.
• Usage analytics — we don't track how you use the app.
• Device information — no device IDs, advertising IDs, or system info.
• Communication data — we never access your messages. Contact access is optional and only when you choose to import from your iPhone contacts.
• Photos or media — no access to your photo library or files.
• Health data — no access to health or fitness information.
• Purchase or trial data — we do not collect or store information about your purchases, subscriptions, or trial status.
• Notification interaction data — we don't track which notifications you open or dismiss.
• App usage patterns — no analytics about which features you use most.
• Any other personal or sensitive information.

Pattern Learning

A proprietary MovementPatternManager uses machine learning algorithms with 70% similarity thresholds to understand your family's routines. All pattern recognition happens exclusively on your device using SwiftData models that never sync to cloud services.

Zone Detection

The adaptive zone system automatically adjusts detection radii based on GPS accuracy (home: 100m, work: 150m, frequent places: 75m) with radius scaling from 0.8x to 1.6x based on signal quality.

Context-Aware Intelligence

6. User-Controlled Location Sharing

Manual sharing only: when you choose to share your location, FamilySafeAI uses iOS's native sharing capabilities that you control completely. You can choose any app — WhatsApp, Messenger, Facebook, Email, and more. Sharing is always manual and fully under your control. No location is sent automatically or without your action.

AI-enhanced sharing: when you do share, our AI can provide contextual insights (like "routine commute" or "unusual location") to make your safety communications more meaningful — but this context is generated locally and only shared if you choose.

Family configuration: your family setup and preferences are stored locally in your device's private storage using iOS security frameworks.

7. Optional Contact Import Feature

Available since Version 1.3, contact importing is completely optional:

• When adding family members or emergency contacts, you can optionally import from your iPhone contacts.
• Contact access only occurs when you explicitly tap "Import from Contacts."
• Only the single contact you select is accessed — never your entire contact list.
• Contact names and phone numbers stay on your device and are never sent to our servers.
• You can always manually enter contact information if you prefer not to grant contact access.

Contact selection uses Apple's secure CNContactPickerViewController — there is no background access to your contacts, only when you initiate an import. Contact data remains local and follows the same zero-collection privacy standard.

8. One-Time Purchase Model

All app purchases are processed securely by Apple through StoreKit. FamilySafeAI operates on a one-time purchase model with no subscriptions or recurring payments. We do not collect, store, or transmit any information about your purchase status. Your app access is determined locally on your device.

9. iOS Privacy Framework Integration

• Location Services — we request location permission only when needed and use Core Location with explicit consent and purpose limitation.
• Background Processing — limited to iOS-approved background tasks for movement pattern analysis with smart grace period management.
• SwiftData Security — all AI learning data is stored using Apple's SwiftData framework with full encryption and sandbox protection.
• Notifications — displayed without subtitles or category identifiers to maintain privacy; you control which notifications you receive.

10. SMS Functionality & Contact Privacy

SMS Location Sharing

• Uses iOS's standard MFMessageComposeViewController for SMS sending.
• Cannot send iMessage (Apple provides no API for third-party apps).
• Pre-fills recipient and message, but you must tap "Send" (an iOS requirement).
• No access to your message history or incoming messages.
• All SMS content is generated locally on your device, never transmitted to our servers.

11. Third-Party Services & Dependencies

FamilySafeAI's privacy-first architecture means minimal external dependencies.

What we don't use

• No analytics or user tracking services (Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
• No social media integration or data sharing platforms
• No cloud storage or backup services for user data
• No advertising networks or monetization tracking
• No crash reporting services that collect user data
• No push notification services beyond iOS native capabilities
• No AI services from Google, Amazon, Microsoft, or other cloud providers
• No payment processing services beyond Apple's StoreKit

What we do use

• Apple's iOS frameworks exclusively for all functionality
• Local SwiftData for AI pattern storage (never synchronized)

• All AI learning data stays on your device and can be completely removed by deleting the app.
• You control all location permissions through iOS settings with granular options.
• Contact access is completely optional and controlled through iOS permissions.
• All AI pattern learning can be reset by deleting and reinstalling the app.
• No account recovery or data restoration is needed since we store nothing externally.

Feature Control

• Choose between Comprehensive, Balanced, or Minimal notification modes.
• Disable any AI feature at any time without affecting core safety functionality.
• Location sharing requires explicit action every time — no background or automatic sharing.
• Contact import is completely optional — manual entry is always available.

Legal Rights

13. Security
